*Methodist Children's Home Society*

A History of Caring

Many children require treatment to cope with their deep fears, low self-esteem, anger and depression as a result of rejection, abuse or neglect. Methodist Children’s Home Society provides an environment of love and understanding that assists children in becoming healthy and productive. Methodist Children’s Home Society has been responding to the needs of these special youngsters by providing an array of residential, foster care, adoption and therapeutic services since 1917.

Methodist Children’s Home Society is a volunteer driven, private, non-profit, non-sectarian child-care agency, which has a long history of caring for children from throughout Michigan.

Residential Care - Our residential treatment program, Children’s Village, offers care for 70 boys, ages 10-17 who are in need of a highly structured intensive environment.

Foster Care - Foster Care is founded on the principle that all children have the right to be safe and to experience the love and support of a family.

Adoption -  Many children are currently in the foster care system awaiting permanent placement with an adoptive family.

Literacy Programs - Our literacy programs, known as BookPartners are unique school-based programs for children offering both academic and emotional support through one-to-one mentoring.
