Executive Director's Message:

Fall 2011

Well, it's the ending of one season and the beginning of another here at MCHS. The leaves are beginning to show the slightest tinge of autumn color, and this past week the winds have begun to blow a little cooler. It's an ending and a beginning. It's also a metaphor for what's happening in child welfare in Michigan. It is a time of endings and beginnings. We have begun what feels like a new era of collaboration with the state, as we are asked for our input and questioned about what we do. It is also the end of doing business the "old way." We are being challenged to be more inventive and creative in meeting the needs of the children in our care and the families we serve. We have never needed the help of our supporters more as we incorporate new treatment modalities, add more professional staff and track outcomes in attempts to determine success. It is an exciting time, but a challenging one, as well. Won't you come along with us on this journey? Volunteer, donate, come visit us...become a part of MCHS and all it has to offer!
